Many patients at my Michigan vein clinic – Michigan Vein Care Specialists – initially seek treatment with us because they want to have their

spider or varicose veins cosmetically treated.  They want us to make the physical evidence “disappear”. Frequently, many are shocked to discover that they are actually suffering from vein disease.

Patients with lower extremity vein disease can have a variety of Vein Disease Symptoms, some of which may not be typical of varicose veins. Additionally, these symptoms may be present even if patients have no visual evidence of varicose veins. Some typical findings associated with varicose veins may include swelling in legs, discoloration around the ankles, or leg ulcers. Other not so typical symptoms include heavy, tired, restless or achy feelings in legs. Some may have fatigue and tightness in calves. Others may have sensations of burning or itching.cosmetically treated.  They want us to make the physical evidence “disappear”. Frequently, many are shocked to discover that they are actually suffering from vein disease.

Also, people who regularly exercise may be inadvertently alleviating their symptoms without even realizing they are suffering with a treatable disease. This is because using the muscles in the calf helps push blood through the veins and up out of the legs.

The only way to accurately diagnose your vein disease is to visit a dedicated vein center, where the vein specialist can perform a venous duplex ultrasound, indicating any issues with blood flow in your system. At Michigan Vein Care Specialists, we use only the latest state-of-the-art procedures and equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease.  Call to schedule a consultation if you currently suffer with any symptoms of vein disease, either cosmetic or medical in nature.
