Chronic Venous Insufficiency

As a practitioner of the field of phlebology (study of vein disease), it is upsetting to know that, despite the non-invasive treatment options available, a good percentage of patients suffering with varicose veins do not pursue treatment for their condition.   Many women have been given incorrect information by their doctors, or they aren’t aware of the range of non-invasive treatment options available for treating varicose veins to keep them from progressing into the more serious Chronic Venous Insufficiency.  According to the American College of Phlebology, only 1.9 million of the more than 30 million Americans who suffer from varicose veins or CVI seek treatment.

Individuals suffering with vein disease, particularly those experiencing the more severe symptoms, suffer, needlessly, while working, exercising and even walking.  Although CVI is more prevalent in older individuals, it can occur at any age when preliminary vein disease is left untreated.  CVI tends to be more prevalent in women who have been pregnant, those who have a family history of the condition, or those whose jobs or activities require prolonged standing.

What can you do?

As varicose veins are often misunderstood as a cosmetic problem, many people living with them do not seek treatment. The good news is that there are minimally-invasive treatment options available for varicose veins and CVI that are covered by most insurance plans. These treatments we offer at Michigan Vein Care Specialists address the condition before it progresses further, providing you with the latest in state-of-the-art treatment, while requiring little downtime or pain.

At my Michigan vein clinic – Michigan Vein Care Specialists – we offer only the latest, minimally invasive equipment and procedures to correctly diagnose and treat your vein disease before it progresses.    Call our office to schedule your consultation.
